Privacy Policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026. This notice explains how NEXIS (PTY) LTD handles information collected through the Nexis Cakes public website, service enquiries and business-prospect research.

Who is responsible

NEXIS (PTY) LTD, registration number 2026/654295/07, operates Nexis Cakes. Our operating/contact address is CG01 Seaside Village 1, Cormorant Avenue, Big Bay, Cape Town, Western Cape, 7441, South Africa. Contact Melvin Ollewagen at hello@hostnexis.com or +27 76 508 7323 about this notice or your information.

Information we collect and why

  • Enquiries: the name, email address, optional phone number and business/contact details you give us, your selected service, requested dates and the information you include in the form. We use these to respond, clarify your needs and prepare a requested proposal. Please do not submit passwords, identity documents, payment-card information or unnecessary sensitive information in an enquiry.
  • Website protection: connection information such as IP address, request time and browser/request details may appear in hosting and security logs. We use security checks, hidden form fields and keyed form markers to check submissions. Enquiries are sent through the normal email route; we do not screen their message content for sales keywords. We do not use an external AI service to classify these enquiries.
  • Business-prospect research: where we research potential business customers, records can include publicly published business contact details, business name, source-page URL and collection date, plus relevant business context. A published email address is not permission to send marketing. We review the collection basis and contact history before considering a permitted, one-time consent request. A request identifies the source of the contact details. Refusals and withdrawals prevent further marketing contact.

Providing enquiry details is voluntary, but we need a contact name, a valid email address and enough information about the request to respond. Declining marketing has no effect on your ability to ask for or buy services. Responding to your own enquiry is separate from subscribing to marketing.

How information is used and shared

Access is limited to authorised people handling requests, administration and support. Our hosting and email providers process information needed to run the website and deliver messages. Website infrastructure uses Amazon Web Services, including South African hosting, global content delivery and email infrastructure in the United States. Depending on the website features you use, browser requests may also reach providers such as Google Fonts. Transfers outside South Africa must have an applicable POPIA section 72 basis, such as adequate contractual safeguards; using this website does not by itself constitute consent to an international transfer.

We do not sell these enquiry or subscription records. We may disclose information where legally required, to protect against abuse, or to fulfil a service you request. Customer workspaces, uploads, payments and particular service integrations have additional information and controls in the applicable workspace/service notices and agreed service terms; this notice does not invite uploading customer datasets through public enquiry forms.

Storage and retention

We restrict administrative access and use HTTPS for website forms. These measures reduce risk but cannot guarantee absolute security. Enquiry correspondence is retained while handling your request and as necessary for legitimate business records or legal obligations; information that is no longer necessary should be deleted or anonymised. Minimal refusal and withdrawal records may be retained while needed to prevent further unwanted marketing. Hosting logs and backups can have separate retention periods and may take longer to expire than an active record.

Cookies and browser storage

The website can use cookies or browser storage for login sessions, security, shopping carts, currency/region choices and saved form selections. Their use depends on the features you choose. An enquiry submission does not constitute marketing consent. We do not add advertising trackers through the enquiry-protection or email-signup features.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to access or correct your information, object to relevant processing, request deletion where applicable, or withdraw marketing consent. Email hello@hostnexis.com with the request; we may need enough information to verify your identity without collecting unnecessary details. A refusal or withdrawal does not undo processing that was lawful before it.
